The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are coming to the Peterborough Memorial Centre, as part of an 18-city Canadian tour that will take them from Ontario to New Brunswick.

            They will

perform (surely the appropriate verb for what they do) in Peterborough on Tuesday, April 12 at 7 pm. The next evening, April 13, will find them at the General Motors Centre in Oshawa.

Highlights of the Globetrotters’ 90th season have included an audience with Pope Francis, whom they helped spin a ball on his finger, and a funky video production of their theme song, Sweet Georgia Brown, made with Canadian musician Mike Tompkins, and using only basketballs, sneakers, a ladder, and their mouths to make the musical sounds (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyA7Qr6L2Lg&feature=youtu.be or search Globetrotters Mike Tompkins on youtube).
